Connecting surplus food, communities, and sustainability.
A small team with a massive goal: to ensure no edible meal ever meets a landfill in the Philippines.
Our Story
Late 2025 — The Observation.
Jonathan and Ivan were visiting local shops in Manila when they noticed something striking: at the end of the day, fresh, edible food was being thrown away. Pastries, meals, and prepared dishes, perfectly good, yet destined for the landfill.
The Realization.
It wasn’t just a financial loss for the shops or a missed opportunity for people. Every discarded meal represented wasted resources, energy, and carbon emissions. The problem was clear: good food wasn’t reaching the people who could use it, and no one was tracking its environmental impact.
The Idea.
What if surplus food could be rescued, sold, and enjoyed, while also reducing waste and supporting communities? That spark led to the birth of KainToGo, a platform connecting shops with unsold food to people who want it, all while promoting sustainable consumption.
Our Vision Today.
KainToGo is now on a mission to transform the way the Philippines thinks about surplus food. Every rescued bag helps fight food waste, reduce carbon emissions, and support local merchants.
Building a Sustainable Marketplace.
We are laser-focused on contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and Goal 2: Zero Hunger.
